Baselworld 2016: An Overview Of The Latest Tudor Watch Collection

01 March 16

The Heritage Black Bay family is growing in 2016 with the arrival of four new Black Bay models...

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Bronze

The Heritage Black Bay family is growing with the arrival of the new Heritage Black Bay Bronze model, a 43 mm divers' watch inspired by the brand's history and fitted with a mechanical movement developed, manufactured and assembled by Tudor. This is a variant of the Tudor manufactured movement developed specifically to equip the Heritage Black Bay Bronze model. Slightly larger in diameter and displaying hours, minutes and seconds function, it bears the reference MT5601, in which the ‘MT’ stands for ‘Movement Tudor’.

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Dark

A new addition to the Heritage Black Bay family, is the Black Bay Dark in matt black steel. This particular watch draws its characteristic elements from Tudor’s history and inherits the general lines, as well as the doomed dial and crystal from the first Tudor diving watches. It features the particularly prominent winding crown from the famous 7924 reference of 1965, aka the ‘Big Crown’, while its characteristic angular hands, known as ‘snowflake’, were borrowed from Tudor watches used by the French National Navy in 1970s. The indication of guaranteed water depth engraved in red on the dial and the red triangle on the rotatable bezel are also key design features inspired by history.

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay 41

The Heritage Black Bay, presented for the first time in 2012 and honoured by the jury of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie in Geneva the following year, has been updated for 2016 with a mechanical movement developed, manufactured and assembled in-house by TUDOR. One of the brand’s truly iconic models, it celebrates 60 years of diving watches with extraordinary heritage.

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay 36

Tudor expresses the aesthetic codes of its iconic Heritage Black Bay in this new 36mm model. The Heritage Black Bay 36 retains the general lines of the Black Bay family of watches while reducing its proportions. It acts both as an introduction to the Black Bay aesthetic for slimmer wrists and as a more formal option, while remaining both fashionable and sporty.
